We’re excited to partner with Sony for this “Deep Dive” showcasing the latest updates to their “Compact Powerhouses”: the Sony Burano with firmware version 2.0 and the newly announced Venice Extension System Mini.

Sony’s Will Newman will kick us off with an overview on the Burano’s brand new firmware and the brand new Venice Extension System Mini. He’ll explain how new features allow camera operators to quickly react and capture fast-paced sequences.

Following this we’ll hear firsthand from DOP Chris Carcelle  on his experience working with the Burano on recent shoots, including examples of elements of the project he was uniquely able to capture due to its exceptional compactness, ideal for capturing unique angles and shooting handheld for longer.

Finally, you’ll have a chance to try out the kit yourself! Sony are bringing down demo items to FOMO just for the night to try out in combination with some of FOMO’s top pieces. We’ll have our Snorricam out for you to experience first hand just how lightweight the Burano is, even strapped to your body for POV shots!
